Friday 11.11.11 saw a fitting start to the Remembrance week-end here in Henley. Aliquando’s concert in aid of the Royal British Legion was both cleverly and sensitively woven together to create a moving occasion.  Wilfred Owen’s nephew Peter Owen, President of the Wilfred Owen Association together with his wife Elizabeth, were present and read Wilfred’s now famous poem of the 1st World War, ”Dulce et Decorum est”.

Buglers under Bugle-Major McCann from 7th Rifles were also present to play the calls as appropriate. They were very much appreciated and added a splendid lustre to the occasion.

On behalf of my committee I would like to express my deep appreciation to Anne Evans and Aliquando for selecting the Henley & Peppard Branch of The Royal British Legion to be the beneficiaries of this most excellent concert.

Malcolm Page,

Chairman, Henley & Peppard Branch RBL
