Aliquando was born in 2009 from a mutual desire of its founder members to share the gift of music and make it matter in a way that would benefit our local communities and charities. As a chamber choir of around 30, we offer our members interesting opportunities to sing the more intimate works in the classical repetoire as well as works specially commissioned by us when the opportunity arises.
Members are encouraged to choose a charity they would like to support and this has been the case with all charities chosen so far.
We supported the Sabre Charitable Trust with our inaugural concert on 6 November 2010, The Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust (TVACAA) benefited from our performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonnelle in September 2011 and later that year we raised money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal here in Henley-on-Thames.
Aliquando raised £7022 for these charities during 2010 and 2011.
Although we do not deliberately intend to expand in numbers, we would always consider new members who have a love of singing, and share the choir’s ethos of making good music, in good company and for a good cause.
if you are like-minded and would like to be involved in our music-making please do not hesitate to phone 01491 578238 for further information.
