Aliquando Chamber Choir warmly invites you to their concert ‘O Sing Noel’ featuring Renaissance and early Baroque motets and carols by composers including Johannes Eccard, Michael Praetorius and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, and nearer home with Benjamin Britten’s Hymn to the Virgin and Ola Gjeilo’s Ecce Novum!
The programme also features among others, Pergolesi’s Magnificat and one of the hidden gems of the choral repertoire: Ottorino Respighi's Lauda per la Natività del Signore (Laud to the Nativity).
This beautiful and atmospheric work is a unique treasure. Remarkably, it is the only cantata Respighi ever composed, combining his distinctive harmonic language with the simplicity and warmth of an Italian Christmas pastoral.
Rarely performed, it offers singers and audience alike the opportunity to experience a truly exceptional masterpiece that few choirs have the chance to explore.
Together, these works create a rich and colourful programme featuring outstanding professional soloists and orchestra, making this a particularly rewarding musical experience.
